APX900 features top-quality flamed maple back and sides and
a solid spruce top. It delivers a rich, mature tone, with a
punchy projection and a bright, long-ringing sustain.
A lush and tonally versatile amplified repertoire comes of a
newly designed 3-Band preamp, A.R.T. (Acoustic Resonance
Transducer) whose adjustable mid-band
frequency covers a broad 80Hz - 10kHz spectrum. This not only
allows control over the midrange but enables reshaping part of
the low and high bands in addition to the dedicated bass and
treble controls. This innovative new preamplifier system utilizes
four amazing contact pickups that dramatically
reduce feedback while achieving rich, beautiful and
natural tones.
The APX900 features a beautiful abalone sound
hole ring inlay, ivory fingerboard and head binding,
ivory/black body binding, maple bottom inlay,
mother-of-pearl APX & Yamaha headstock logos
and mother-of-pearl position markers. This model
